Hello All!The Newfoundland Club of America's National Specialty will be here before we know it!It's May 13-18 at the Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth, MN.  If you are attending any of the days, and would like to volunteer some of your time while there, we would greatly appreciate it.
Northstar has been put in charge of Hospitality, but there are many areas where help could be used.  If you would like to volunteer, I am asking that you use the NCA's volunteer form to sign up. Here is the link to the form: 2024 NCA National Online StoreWhere it asks what days and times you are available, I am asking that you also put in there that you are a Northstar member, so we get recognized for our efforts.
Northstar's Regional Basket
We have some items collected I will list here:
Beach bag with embroidered flower and paw printsDuluth Trading Dog toys: Paint can, Beaver, and troutKong ToysTop Twenty Logo'd Sweatshirt (M)Dirty Dog Shammy8x10 Newf Drawing by Sandy Donnay framed to 11x14Dog hiking backpackNewf Quilt made by Missy MankeLiftbridge Sodas: Rootbeer (x2), Black Cherry (x2), Mini Donut Cream Soda(x2)
It would be nice to have some more MN themed items. It can be dog related or just MN related.
Other things I was thinking we could add to the basket would be, local winery, brewery, locally grown/made foods (such as honey, maple syrup, dog treats, people treats, etc).
It might be nice to add some water work items to the basket, as we are the land of 10,000 lakes. 😜I know a person that makes and sells the rope kits, long line, take a line, and an 8 ft lead.
Life jacket? (Ruffland type)Neopaws rainsuit?
If you have items you like to donate, please reach out to me to make arrangements to get them to me.
If you don't have items, but would still like to contribute, please send a check made out to Northstar Newfoundland Club and mail to me. Missy Manke, 13877 Irvine Ave NW, Annandale, MN 55302. If you have suggestions for things to add, I am happy to hear those as well.

Opening Ceremonies Parade
Clubs with members in attendance are asked to walk in the Opening ceremonies showing off their clubs.  We will be given a flag with our club logo on it.
It is on Tuesday, May 14th starting @ 3:30. If you will be attending the National and will be around that day, please let me know. It would be nice to coordinate people and dogs to a theme. The Theme of the National this year is "Heading to the Lake". It would be nice to keep to some kind of nautical theme. (Carts decorated as a boats/ships, sailor outfits?)
I am all ears for ideas.
But please let me know if you are able to attended the opening ceremonies and walk with us.
I am excited for this national being so close, and I hope you all get the opportunity to check out at least one day of it.  It really is something. The schedule of events can be found on the main webpage for the Specialty here: 2024 NCA National Online Store
Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Missy,
Sierra & Josh, Niki and I will be there Sunday to Sunday.  I signed us up on the volunteer page.  We can walk in the opening ceremonies if you wish.  I will contribute something for the basket.  Is a ND wine okay? If so, do you want them mailed to you, or just bring them with?

Missy- I would like to donate 3 one pound packages of Minnesota grown and Native American harvested wild rice from the White Earth First Nation near my hometown of Detroit Lakes. Let me know the best way to get it to you prior to the Nationals.
