Hi All,
As I am finalizing things with the Superintendent and AKC, I was thinking about how long we've been having this show. This will be Northstar's 29th year of hosting shows. Our first show was in 1994, with the theme of "A Star is Born". We had a theme up until our 19th show. If possible, I would like to start having themes again for our shows. But I would like to enlist the help of someone in our club to do this. If someone (or knows of someone) that has a creative background that design something simple that we could possible put on t-shirts or sweatshirts that we could sell, please let me know.
Trophies - I have gotten almost all of our trophies sponsored for Friday and about half for Saturday. I still have a few placements that could use some sponsors. Here is a list of what I am still looking for sponsors for: Friday:
Select/AOM Dog - $40Saturday:
Best of Opposite Sex in Sweeps - $35Best of Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweeps - $35Winners Dog - $25Winners Bitch - $25Select/AOM Dog - $40Select/AOM Bitch - $40Best Junior Handler - $70
If you would like to sponsor a trophy, please send a check made out to Northstar Newfoundland Club and mail to me at 13877 Irvine Ave NW, Annandale, MN 55302If you would like to send a donation in any amount for show costs, that is fine too. I would like to have all the trophies sponsored by August 10th if possible, so I can list all of the sponsors in the catalog.
I will have cards made up with the sponsors attached to the trophy items as well.
Raffle Items - I also contacted the State of Minnesota about raffling the quilt and the dogworks wagon I have. We do not need a license as the total cost of both items is less then $1500. So now it's just a matter of how to advertise and sell the tickets. As Northstar does not have Stripe or an online payment account, it will be hard to make sales outside of just being sold on site. So ideas on how to do this is welcomed as well.
Brown bag Raffle items - I am also taking donations for other miscellaneous dog or newf related items to have for a brown bag raffle. I have a few items:Wiggle Giggle ballSet of rope toysMetal Newf ornamental hanging bracket Dog themed mug rugs

What weekend is show and where? What are the hours to possibly split? I may be able to help out. Also are Jack and I OK to go to water dog training if I have a longer lead?

The show is October 7th and 8th, at the McLeod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Mn.
The entire show (all breed and specialty) hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm. If we had two or 3 shifts each day, maybe?
We don’t have to have the table open that entire time. But if we could have most of it, that would be great.

Best of Opposite Sex in Sweeps - $35
Best of Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweeps - $35
Winners Dog - $25
Winners Bitch - $25
Select/AOM Dog - $40
Select/AOM Bitch - $40
Best Junior Handler - $70

If you would like to sponsor a trophy, please send a check made out to Northstar Newfoundland Club and mail to me at 13877 Irvine Ave NW, Annandale, MN 55302
If you would like to send a donation in any amount for show costs, that is fine too. I would like to have all the trophies sponsored by August 10th if possible, so I can list all of the sponsors in the catalog.
I will have cards made up with the sponsors attached to the trophy items as well.

Raffle Items - I also contacted the State of Minnesota about raffling the quilt and the dogworks wagon I have. We do not need a license as the total cost of both items is less then $1500. So now it's just a matter of how to advertise and sell the tickets. As Northstar does not have Stripe or an online payment account, it will be hard to make sales outside of just being sold on site. So ideas on how to do this is welcomed as well.

Brown bag Raffle items - I am also taking donations for other miscellaneous dog or newf related items to have for a brown bag raffle.
I have a few items:
Wiggle Giggle ball
Set of rope toys
Metal Newf ornamental hanging bracket
Dog themed mug rugs

Donations for this can be sent to me as well.

I will also need someone to help with the table where this will all be set up as well. If I could have a couple people to split shifts each day to help, that would be great. If you'd like to help with this, please let me know as well.
