Hello all,
Each year we have tried to collect items that portray our region to have raffled off at the NCA National Specialty. Last year, if you remember, I had made a quilt that was a part of our basket. Which turned out to be a big hit at the National, but would have probably drawn more attention at the Fine Arts Auction.
So this year, I have made up two smaller quilts, each measuring approx 40” squared, that I propose the club donate to have put on the fine arts auction this in lieu of putting together a basket. Pictures of them are attached.
To do so, we would ask for members to make a monetary donation to the Club for the cost of the materials and the machine quilting.
What ever we collect above the cost of the quilts, we can either donate to the National Specialty or we can put towards our rescue fund.
I will have the quilts with me at our meeting on March 16th for everyone to see.
We can collect funds at that meeting, or if you cannot attend, you can mail to NorthStar Newfoundland Club, 4062 Agate Ave SE, Buffalo, MN 55313. Make sure you note that it is for the National Specialty donation.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
See you all in March!
Thank you,
Missy Manke

And to answer Chris’s question, checks can be made out to NorthStar Newfoundland Club.

Hi Missy,
Your quilts are beautiful! Great idea to put them in the Fine Arts Auction
at Nationals.
I am putting a check in the mail issued to the NorthStar Club and will note
that it is for the National Specialty donation.
I am not able to attend the meeting tomorrow.
I look forward to seeing you at Nationals! Gracie and I are entered in
obedience, trick dog, and conformation for sure.
Tell everyone hi at the meeting.
Best,
Mary Jeanne

Hello all,
Each year we have tried to collect items that portray our region to have
raffled off at the NCA National Specialty. Last year, if you remember, I
had made a quilt that was a part of our basket. Which turned out to be a
big hit at the National, but would have probably drawn more attention at
the Fine Arts Auction.
So this year, I have made up two smaller quilts, each measuring approx 40”
squared, that I propose the club donate to have put on the fine arts
auction this in lieu of putting together a basket. Pictures of them are
attached.
To do so, we would ask for members to make a monetary donation to the Club
for the cost of the materials and the machine quilting.
What ever we collect above the cost of the quilts, we can either donate to
the National Specialty or we can put towards our rescue fund.
I will have the quilts with me at our meeting on March 16th for everyone
to see.
We can collect funds at that meeting, or if you cannot attend, you can
mail to NorthStar Newfoundland Club, 4062 Agate Ave SE, Buffalo, MN 55313.
Make sure you note that it is for the National Specialty donation.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
See you all in March!
Thank you,
Missy Manke
