Effective with this 2018 water test season, the required equipment a club must provide for a test includes: “A rowboat with total weight as stated on coast guard placard of capacity “in persons, motor, gear” of a minimum of 650 pounds. No folding or inflatable boats. Clubs wishing an exception for a boat to be used at a test must contact the WDC for information to submit their boat for approval. “ Clubs will be asked to provide a photo of the boat and a photo of the boat's U.S. Coast Guard maximum capacity label. These photos need to be sent with any water test application. Clubs having boats without placards must submit a photo of their boat as well as measurements of length, width, and height at the transom as part of their request for an exception to the policy. Clubs which have already applied for a water test for the 2018 season should contact Dwight Gorsuch to supply the additional boat information to complete their application. Forms for test applications and the 2018 water regulations are still in revision, so please make sure that when your club applies for a test this year, the requested boat information is submitted to ensure the prompt processing of your application. As always, please send your complete water test application packets to Dwight Gorsuch for processing. The WDC hopes to have complete revisions of the forms posted on the NCA website by mid-February.
